2．教学单词thought，felt，woke，trip和句子But suddenly he tripped and fell．
(1)教师出示单词：think，feel，wake，让学生说说这些动词的意思。然后告诉学生这些动词的过去式都是不规则变化的，边说边将板书补充成：think-thought，feel-felt，wake-woke，并带读这六个单词。 (2)教师板书：trip，让学生说说单词的意思。告诉学生：trip作为名词时意为“旅行”，作为动词时意为“绊倒”，它的过去式是规则变化的。让学生说说该单词的过击式，教师根据学生回答将板书补充为：trip-tripped。教师出示课文的插图说：He was in the race. But suddenly he tripped and fell．教师板书：But suddenly he tripped and fell．让学生说出该句子的意思后，师带读。
