Abstract

China’s coal mining is mainly carried out underground with the complicated geological conditions and the adverse working environment, which is directly related to life property safety of the coal miner. Coal mine safety production is facing the great challenge, thus it is very urgent to strengthen monitoring on the production safety, which can effectively reduce occurrences of the coalmine accident, and immediate rescue the trapped miners, guarantee safe operation and lower enterprise's loss. However, the current underground environment detection system has some shortcomings, such as limited detection underground area, bad real time capability, poor expansibility etc.

The Internet of Things refers to uniquely identifiable objects and their virtual representations in an Internet-like structure, connecting devices by radio frequency identification, wireless communication, sensor network, the exchange of information and communications. All kinds of the environment information can be obtained by the WSN technology in time. WSN consists of spatially distributed sensors to monitor environmental conditions, such as temperature, and to cooperatively pass their data via the network to control center, which has broad application range. Therefore, this paper develops the environmental monitoring and management system of coal mine based on the IOT technology, combining with the requirement of the characteristics of coal mine environment, and has great signification for coal mine safety production.
