Three months later, the British embassy confirmed the ring was Flt Sgt Thompson?s, and contacted his family. Then the riddle was solved.

A flight engineer, Sergeant John Thompson and Joyce Mozley got married in June 1944 but only spent a weekend together before being posted overseas. Thompson?s plane dropped supplies to the Biza valley, but on turning west to return to Italy, it crashed, killing its crew. His wife remarried after the war and passed away in 1995. At the ceremony in Albania?s Defence Ministry, Cala kneeled as he handed the ring to Thompson?s 92-year-old sister, Dorothy Websteralong with a piece of rock from the mountain that brought the plane down.

“Your brother helped to liberate my country. He will never be forgotten.” Defence Minister Mimi Kodheli told Webster.

“I remember him very well, as if it were yesterday,” Webster told Reuters, adding she was “excited … getting all these that we never thought we would ever get”. 60. Thompson?s plane crashed because it ___________. A. failed to drop its load

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has nine terminals. Terminal 1 is by the entrance, the Tom Bradley International Terminal is in the center and Terminal 8 is by the exit. While it?s not a far walk between neighboring terminals, you?ll need to take the free LAX shuttle (or run) if you?re changing airlines from, say, Terminal 1 to Terminal 8. Timing

Day or night, LAX is almost always busy. Most restaurants and shops inside the terminals close up for the night around 11 pm. Delays

Crowds, not weather (except rare cases of thick fog), can cause delays at LAX. Restaurants and Bars

Some of L.A.?s most famous restaurants and pubs have outposts at LAX, including Umami Burger (Tom Bradley International Terminal). And since it?s L.A., fresh fruit, vegetables and other green snacks are available at Farmers Market (Terminal 5). Shops and Amenities (设施)

You can shop at high-end boutiques (精品店) like Hugo Boss in the Tom Bradley International Terminal. You can pick up an L.A.-themed souvenir at Hollywood Style (Terminal 4) or I Love L.A. (Terminal 5). Each terminal has lounges available for business and first-class passengers for free. Surprisingly, there are no on-site gyms or spas at LAX, but some hotels nearby offer day passes to their facilities. Hotels

No hotels are attached to LAX, but several are located just blocks away along Century Boulevard, including the Sheraton Gateway Los Angeles. These hotels have free airport shuttles for their guests.

Services and Facilities

Free Wi-Fi is available in all terminals (you can also buy higher-speed service for $4.95 an hour or $7.95 for 24 hours). If flying makes you nervous (and dogs don?t), you can calm yourself by petting a therapy (心理疗法) dog from the LAX Pets Unstressing Passengers (PUPs) program. (Look for a pooch wearing a red “Pet Me” vest.)

64. According to the passage, which of the following statements is true?

A. Airlines will not be delayed due to weather. B. You can not find a restaurant to eat in after 11 pm. C. Hotels can be found not far from the airport.

D. Some agricultural products are sold in the central terminal. 65. We can learn from the passage that ____________. A. all terminals have free lounges for passengers

B. the airport provides free shuttles for their guests to hotels C. L.A.-themed souvenirs can be bought near Farmers Market D. you can take exercise in most terminals

66. How much will you pay if you want to use higher-speed Wi-Fi for two hours? A. $4.95.

B. $9.9.

C. $7.95.

D. For free.

67. A pooch is probably a _______. A. dog

B. passenger

C. doctor

D

When it comes to seeing eye-to-eye with humans, Baxter is a roboticist?s best friend. QUT?s newest robot is helping researchers break down the technological boundaries that stop them from working safely side-by-side with humans.

The key — seeing and understanding the world as we do.

“Once robots can see and understand the environment

they operate in, they can make decisions that allow them to work safely beside us,” said Professor Peter Corke, world-famous roboticist with QUT?s Science and Engineering Faculty and Director of the Australian Centre for Robotic Vision (ACRV).

“Current industrial robots are dangerous for humans to work around because they?re simply not equipped to recognise and avoid obstacles suddenly in their way.

“Baxter uses a range of sensors to detect movement around it, as well as spring-loaded joints which stop it continuing a pre-programmed movement if it meets an unexpected obstacle.”

Officially launched at QUT last night by federal Minister for Employment and Training Christopher Pyne, the ACRV brings together Australia?s top computer vision and robotics

D. pet owner

researchers, who are creating the next generation of robots that can see and understand complex, real-world environments.

They are researching the use of robotic vision to create advanced farming tools, handle Crown of Thorn starfish outbreaks on the Great Barrier Reef and develop low-cost solutions for key health and medical problems.

“Robotic vision is the key enabling technology that will allow robotics to transform labour-intensive (劳动密集) industries and see robots become a common feature of the modern world,” ACRV Chief Operating Officer Dr Sue Keay said.

“We consider that ?seeing? is far more than just processing images.

“It?s a complex process tightly related to both memory and action, which gives robots the understanding they need to perform tasks that involve objects and places while at the same time providing rapid and continuous feedback for control.

“Robotic automation has transformed manufacturing, household cleaning and soon cars but robotics has made relatively little headway in other industries where the world is complex and time varying, like retail (零售).

“Robots that can see, learn and respond as humans do will increase productivity in industries critical to Australia?s economy.”

68. Robots can not work with humans at present mainly because _______ . A. the boundaries separate man and robots B. some technological problems remain to be settled C. robots can break down any obstacles D. robots are roboticists? best friends

69. According to Professor Peter Corke, _________. A. robots are intelligent enough to make decisions B. researchers are absolutely sure about Baxter?s safety

C. spring-loaded joints are useful in stopping a robot? s movement D. industrial robots can avoid an unexpected obstacle 70. From what Dr. Sue says, we know that ________. A. “seeing” means processing images B. memory and action are complex processes
