威廉·莎士比亚（1564-1616）文艺复兴时期英国最伟大的诗人和剧作家。他出生于英国中部斯特拉特福镇的一个羊毛商的家庭。幼年在当地的文法学校里他开始接触戏剧，并对其发生浓厚兴趣。1585年前后在伦敦谋生，几年后进入剧院工作。在取得舞台工作经验之后，莎士比亚开始了戏剧创作工作。
