Step 5: Pair-work

Look at a picture , and describe Lily’s new friend. Then fill in the blanks on page 42. Finish Section A 3.

Then the Ss do pair-work. Let Ss take out their photos and describe their friends or their family and practice the dialogue on P42 Step 6: Homework:

Period Three

(Section A 3a,3b 4 and Section B 1a, 1b , 4)

I.Teaching aims:

1. Describe someone in the class and Guess who it is 2. Use adjectives correctly and put them in right order III. Teaching procedures: Step 1: Revision

Let Ss make a report. Ask them describe themselves and their new friends Step 2: Learn new words:

1. Show some pictures of people or project some flashcards about people:

2. Show some pictures about people’s appearance or project some flashcards

about people’s appearance. What does he/ she look like?

He has blonde hair. He is good-looking but a little fat. He wears a pair of

glasses.

Then teach them new words: beard, glasses, good-looking, a little fat, bit, brown,

S: He has…(hair) He/ She is…(height) He/ She is ….(build) Step 3: Activities:

1. Get the Ss to practice the above conversation and communicate with each other.

Then turn to page 44, Finish Section B 1a

2.Look at some famous musicians or actors, then make sentences. Then finish Section B 1b Step 4: Presentation

1. Ask some Ss to come in front of Bb. Then Let Ss describe the student: Eg. Chen Yi is a good student. He’s medium building. He has short black hair. He likes reading and playing basketball. 2. Then Finish 3a

Read the description of the four classmates . And Match them with the pictures. Step 5 Game

Describe someone in the class Ask your classmates to guess who you’re describing.

Ask one Ss to come into the Bb, According to the describing to draw a boy or a girl, then guess who it is

Then one of Ss who is the best describer. Step 6. Pair-work(Section A 3b)

Look at the pictures and Then describe . Student A writes the names in the box next to the people in the picture. Student B Asks questions to find the people.

Enjoy some cartoons played by famous people, and describe the famous people, the contents include : head, face, hair, nose, eyes, ear, mouth, body, etc.

e.g. short/ long hair, straight/curly hair, blonde/brown/black hair, tall/ short/medium height, thin, fat/heavy, medium build, a small mouth/body, long/short legs, a big/thin/round face, two big eyes, big mouth, etc. Step 8: Homework

Let Ss talk about their favorite stars’ (musician, actor and althlete)appearance, two students in a group, practice the dialogue: e.g. A: Who is your favorite musician?

B: My favorite musician is John Jackson. Do you know him? A: No, what does he look like?

B: He is tall and thin. He has short curly brown hair. Who is your favorite musician?

A: I like Han Hong best.

B: Oh, I like her, too. And what does she look like?

A: She is short and heavy. She has short and black hair. She wears glasses. Right?

B: Yes.

Step 2 : Listening

Then look at a picture of Johnny and Tina. Listen to the tape and write Johnny Dean’s and Tina Brown’s jobs in the chart. Finish Section B 2a.

Listen again. What do Johnny and Tina look like? Complete the chart. Finish

Section B 2b Jobs Looks like Johnny Dean Tina Brown Step 3: Activities Let Ss look at two pictures of Johnny Dean and say about the differences these two pictures.

Then Read the magazine about Johnny Dean. What did Johnny look like before? What does he look like now? Fill in the blanks in the chart. Finish Section B 3a. Johnny Dean Hair Glasses Before Now Step 4 : Practice

Look at another picture of Gloria Green. Then Fill in the blanks in the article. Finish Section B 3b.

Gloria Green , a pop, singer, has a new look. She doesn’t long hair. She has short hair. And she doesn’t wear pants and a T-shirt. She wears shorts and glasses. ―It’s great,‖ She says, ―I can go shopping and nobody knows me.‖ Step 5: Presentation

Let Ss design a new look for himself . And Write What he looked like before and what he looks like now.

e.g. I’m a student. I have a new look now. I don’t have short hair and small eyes. I have long blonde hair and two big eyes. I don’t wear school uniform . I wear my beautiful T-shirt and jeans. Do you think I’m nice now?

Then ask some Ss to read their descriptions. Step 6: Homework

1. Write about one of your family member, before and now 2. Design your favorite star
