My name is Joe. I have just turned five and-I am supposed to start kindergarten in the fall. My sister is seven years old and has just finished the first grade. Then our parents told us the news. We are moving again. Because I have not started school yet, the idea of moving is not so hard for me to accept. My sister became very upset, however. She cried because she loves her school and didn't want to leave her friends. My mother gave her a hug. She said that it is always hard to leave the places you know for something unknown.

It turned out that the next place we will move to is London! My dad's engineering company is opening up a new office there. We only have a few weeks to pack up all of our things and say good-bye to our friends and family. I am going to miss our walks through the streets and all of the other fun things we did. D.

Andrew Carnegie was born to a poor family in Scotland. Andrew grew up in a small stone house with his family. Andrew enjoyed being at home with his parents so much that he didn't want to go to school. He found life in his small town interesting. Andrew enjoyed hearing history stories from his uncle.

When he was supposed to begin school at the age of five, Andrew refused to go. His parents allowed him to wait until he was ready, but after three years they were worried. They asked their local schoolmaster to make Andrew believe that school was exciting. Finally when he was eight years old, Andrew started attending school.

Young Andrew attended school for only five years, and he was a bright student. He especially loved to memorize poems. As Andrew grew up, his father could not continue to support his family. Soon it became harder and harder for his father to find a job. So in 1848, the Carnegie family left Scotland for the United States.
