一般过去时（The past Indefinite tense）.
一般过去时表示过去某时发生的动作或情况。一般过去时用动词过去式表示。动词过去式按其构成形式有规则和不规则变化两种情况。规则动词的过去式一般直接在词尾加-ed，即：动词原形+ ed；无规则变化的需要边学边记。其用法简单列举如下： 1. 肯定句式。一般过去时的肯定句式由“主语+动词过去式+其他”构成。Be作为主要动词应用时，在主语是第一人称单数和第三人称单数的情况下，用过去式was；其余人称情况下，用过去式were。如： She worked here . She was here .
2. 否定句式。一般过去时的否定句式由：“主语+动词过去式+ not+其他”构成。be在不同的人称形式下，变化与在肯定句式下相似。如： I did not work here . We were not here.
3. 疑问句式。一般过去时的疑问句式把动词be放在句首或在句首加助动词did构成。be在不同的人称形式下，变化与在肯定句式下相似。如： Did you work here? Was he here?
其简略回答形式用“Yes+主语+动词”或“No+主语+动词+not”。如： Yes, I did . No, I did not. 三. 具体内容： 情态动词can的用法
A. can表示能力。意思是：能，会。主要用在一般现在时中。例如： Lily can speak a lot of Chinese now. 现在莉莉能说很多的汉语了。
I can’t swim. 我不会游泳。 Can you drive？ 你会开车吗？
注意：can表示能力可和be able to互换使用，且后者有更多的时态，be able to常被用来表示can所不能表示的将来或完成的概念。 情态动词can 和 could 用于表示“许可”、“请求”： 注意：请求,用 could 比 can 更婉转；could也可表示过去的许可。 例如： (1). Can you go with me ? (2). He said I could go shopping. (3). Could I ask you something ?
B. can表示可能。是指从理论上或是逻辑判断上表示可能。例如： He can be in the teachers’ office. 他可能在教师办公室里。
C. can表示请求许可。主要是说话的语气比较客气，也可表示虽然比较委婉客气地提出问题或陈述看法，事实上在征求对方的意见。例如：
Can I have a look at your new bike? 我可以看一看你的新自行车吗？ can的否定形式为cannot，美国人有时写作can not 缩写形式为can’t。 情态动词can的用法：
1. 表示<某人能做某事>时,可以用 来表达，如果表示自己不能做某事时，可以在can后直接加not，成为cannot 或缩写成can’t。如： Lily can’t speak Chinese .丽丽不会说汉语。 I cannot play football.我不会踢足球。
2. can 是情态动词，没有人称形式的变化，不论表示谁能(不能)做某事，都用can (can’t).如：
Tom can ride a bike. He can’t drive a car.汤姆会骑自行车，他不会开车。 They can sing. They can’t dance.他们会唱歌，不会跳舞。
3. 如果询问某人能否做某事，则要使用can的疑问句形式,即将can提到句首，回答时，肯定形式用can，否定形式用can’t. 肯定形式、否定形式、疑问形式简略回答。
I can play football. I can’t play football. Can you play football? Yes, I can. No, I can’t. He /She can play basketball. He /She can’t play basketball.
Can he /she play basketball ?Yes, he/she can. No, he/she can’t. We can swim. We can’t swim. Can you swim? Yes, we can. No, we can’t.

一、教学目标： 1、知识与能力目标
熟练掌握单词与短语：blind, show，special, clever 熟练掌握重点语句：This dog can help him. Can Fifi help the blind people? No, he can’t .He only wants to play.
使学生能够灵活运用can ,can’t 描述动物具有的能力，并且能用can对动物是否具有某种能力进行提问。 2、情感态度目标
培养学生热爱动物，热爱大自然，热爱我们周围环境的意识。 二、教学过程： Step 1 Warming up
Draw an animal on the blackboard. Let the students guess what animal it is .It’s a dog.（通过逐步画出的小狗既引起学生的兴趣，又引出本课关于导盲犬的话题）
Step 2 Presentation and practice
1. Draw a man beside a dog. Then draw the man to blind. Talk about it then teach the word“blind”.Watch a TV show and answer a question“Who can help the blind man ?”
2. Listen to the passage and repeat it. Try to be the TV presenter. 1）跟读一遍刚刚观看过的盲人与导盲犬的电视节目的文章。 2）请学生试读缺少个别词语的文章。 3）小组练习，根据每句提示词试复述文章。
3.Listen to CDROM and answer the question “Can Fifi help the blind people? ”
Write down the sentence on the blackboard and repeat it.
4.Listen again and answer the question “What does he want to do?” 5. Listen and circle the sentences with “can or can’t”. 6. Memorizing game. Guess what the special animals can do . 7. Listen the passage and repeat it.
