I dream of living on the moon in the future. I learn very hard about space, and I often exercise to keep fit to achieve my dream.

Robert is an overseas Chinese who has taken part in the In Search of Roots summer camp. The program is organized by Guangdong Province. It started in 1980 and so far has brought thousands of overseas Chinese young people to look for their family roots. They are between 16 and 25 years old. They can hardly speak Chinese.
Robert studied Chinese culture, saw changes there and visited interesting sights. When he went to his ancestor's village he felt he was part of it and experienced village life. He drank from the village well and went for walks through the countryside and watched the villagers do their daily work.

My favorite teacher is Zhang Shishun. He has short hair. He's of medium build.
He likes reading all kinds of books, writing notes and keeping doing exercises every day. He dislikes smoking, drinking wine and talking loudly.
He is outgoing and energetic. He can make a speech for four hours.
He is very patient and is never angry with his students. He has a positive way of looking at his students who have difficulties in learning. He said, “I'm happy to have such students. It's these students that give me chance to show my ability to educate them.” I'm not good at learning at the beginning. By and by, I make great progress because he keeps encouraging me and never says something bad to me.

Tom is my best friend. But he doesn't talk to me now, because we had a quarrel. Last week he forgot to do his homework. So he wanted to copy mine. I didn't let him do this because I didn't think it was a good idea. It's bad for him to copy mine. It would start a bad habit and he should do it by himself. But he didn't think so. He got mad at me. He said he didn't want to be my best friend anymore. So we stopped talking to each other from then on. But I'm sure he will get it over and say sorry to me soon.

But now his school life has changed a lot. He is very busy every day. He has to get up early and stays in school all day. Because he has to study hard. He doesn't have any more time to play games with his friends. He has to do his homework and goes to bed late every night. He hardly has any time for concerts. He misses the old days very much.

Our lives are the sum of all our choices. The decisions we make today, may very well play a critical role in our future tomorrow. When I was thirteen, my mother always wanted me a girl who was good at schoolwork. However, I was keen on playing the drum a lot and didn't like study at all, which was not allowed by her. As a result, we quarreled with each other a lot. As time passed by, I gradually found that one should be knowledgeable, no matter what he would be in the future.

Life is full of difficulties and the best way to fight against them is to stick to them. But we can't always go through these problems ourselves, so we need to gain encouragement from others.
Once I made a speech in front of the students from different schools. I tried hard to say out every word clearly and correctly. Unfortunately, I was so nervous that I forgot one part of my speech. I felt disappointed and almost wanted to give up. “You are great.” Someone shouted. Others then started to cheer me up. I suddenly became powerful and completed the speech perfectly.
From that time, I have realized that we do need encouragement from teachers, parents or even strangers, because it will give us much power to achieve our dreams.

As we all know, English is essential for everyone in such a modern world.
At weekends, I often watch foreign films and listen to the English songs to improve my English. Sometimes I also go to the English corner to practice speaking English with others. I am able to speak English more fluently and often achieve “A” grades in English tests. But now I become more confident in speaking English. After school, I always do some English exercises and then go over new words and the text. It's also wonderful to attend an English club because I can practice speaking English with others. Much practice enlarges my vocabulary and enables me to read English

novels more easily as well. To my joy, I have made some progress. I can speak English more fluently than before.
