I¡¯m very glad to share with you my story of DIY.
I learned how to make a fruit salad in the school DIY Club. Last weekend I made one myself. First I got everything ready, like a spoon, a bowl, some plates, some salad cream and some fresh fruit. Next I chose my favourite fruit and wash it. Then I cut some of the large fruit into small pieces. Finally, I mixed them together. Of course I added some salad cream to make it taste better. DIY is really great fun.

M: Jane, you should really have gone on the trip with us this morning. W: But I was busy with my homework. Please tell me more about it, John.
M: Daniel, Jim and I went to the beach together. We played volleyball and had a sun bath there. W: How nice! Did you swim in the sea?
M: We were going to, but suddenly there was a strong wind. W: You could fly your kite then.
M: No, heavy rain came down, so we had to go home. But we still enjoyed ourselves very much.

Like many other villages near towns or cities, Lofton is clean and quiet. But in some ways, it is a little different. Many people usually take the train to work in a big city called Manchester, but their homes are in Lofton. There most people usually work at most four days a week. They are friendly and helpful. No one worries about anything. They are healthy and seldom ill.
Life in Lofton may not be so exciting as that in large cities. People have to go to Manchester if they want to see a film or listen to a concert. However, I believe you can forget all your problems there. That¡¯s why so many tourists go there every year.

It was not a good day for Maya. Everything was going wrong. First, she woke up late and didn¡¯t have time to eat breakfast. And when she packed her schoolbag, she couldn¡¯t find her ruler.
¡°Let me help you,¡± said her brother, Abdul. He found her ruler on the floor. ¡°Let¡¯s run to the bus stop,¡± he said. ¡°We¡¯ll just make it.¡±
But she forgot to bring her homework and the teacher was unhappy about that. The teacher gave her writing homework to do the next day. On the way home, it started to rain. She dropped her books on the ground as she got off the bus.
Abdul got off the bus just behind her. ¡°Don¡¯t worry,¡± he said.¡± If we take them home and dry them quickly, they will be all right.¡±
¡°Thanks, Abdul,¡± said Maya.
That night Maya sat down to do her homework. But when she read the topic of the writing homework, she smiled. The teacher had written at the top of the page, ¡°Write about your best friend. Tell us what you like best about him or her.¡± She thought for a while and started to write, ¡°The best thing about my brother Abdul ¡¡±
