Conclusion

With the rapid development of science and technology in the 21st century, it is important to master a foreign language among which the most comprehensive being used is English. EST is crucial in the territory of science and technology as international trade is becoming more and more important.

In this paper, the principles, methods and skills on EST translation are analyzed, introduced and concluded. A current research progress and status for EST translation is also briefed in this paper. What need to be elaborated are the translation skills which are rich in content. To make profitable use of it demands that the translators should be familiar with the expressing method of the scientific and technical literatures as well as a good command of standard Chinese.

Although the thesis may contribute to the study on EST translation, yet deficiencies are unavoidable. The present study is still far from satisfactory and may be more or less inexhaustive. EST translation is a formidable task which requires us to keep our efforts up for a long time. Taking the limitations of this thesis into consideration, we can find that there still leaves much for further study. Further study can spread the subject in the regard of both range and depth. Vies the future, we stir ourselves. We see a vista of limitless promise. More study in this area is expected, by which a newer and better translation theory concerning EST translation may be produced in the coming days.
