掌握单词,熟练掌握描述人的形象的句型。 2. 教学难点:

掌握描述人的形象的句型。尤其是(be) of medium height, (be) of medium build这两个短语的熟练使用。 三、教学过程

Ⅰ. Warming-up and revision 1. 教读本节课的新单词和短语。

2. 用How many people are there in your family? Is your mother tall or short? Is your father heavy/fat or thin? 来问答。

3. 题中heavy, tall, thin, short来引出本课所有教授的内容。 What do/does … look like? Ⅱ. Presentation (Section A 1a)

1. Show the pictures of 3 different heights and build people, then teach student how to describe them.

What does he/she look like? He/ She is tall/ short/ of medium height. He/ She is heavy/ fat/ thin/ of medium build.

2. Show the pictures of 4different hair styles people, then teach them how to describe the hair.

What does he/ she look like? He/ She has short/ long/ curly/ straight hair. She has long straight long black hair. He has short curly blond hair. Ⅲ. Drill

1. Show some people, let students work in pairs to describe them by themselves. 2. Match the words with the people in the picture. (1a) (Keys: c, f, a, a, d, h, e, b, g, e) 3. Let 2 students to lead reading. Ⅳ. Practice (1b, 2a & 2b) 1. Listening.

1). Look at the picture of 1a, listen and fill the blanks in the picture. (1b)

Listen carefully and fillin the blanksand find Amy' friend? We will listen twice.The first time, just listen.The second time,listen and fill in the blanks.And say the look of Amy’s friend.( He's really tall.And he has curly hair.)

2). Listen and answer the questions. (2a) 3). Listen again and fill in the chart. (2b) is has David Sally Peter 2. Listen a third time to repeat. 3. Read the dialogue. 4. Ask and answer questions. Ⅵ. Homework

Use the information of 2b to make 3 conversations like this: A: What does David look like?

B: He is tall and heavy. And he has curly hair.
