mix of yoga, sitting, and walking meditation, deep breathing, journaling, and non-judgmental listening.

Yoga and meditation have gained popularity among Americans in recent decades£¬supported by studies showing benefits to emotional, mental, and physical health. The centuries-old practices have roots in eastern religions, but Western culture has long focused on physical postures (×ËÊÆ)£¬breathing, and relaxation techniques.

Some people have greeted the move with less than enthusiasm. Last year, an elementary school in Ohio ended its mindfulness program after parents complained it was too closely linked to religion. But many school districts are reporting success. In Richmond, California, schools have reported drops in school problems among low-income, at-risk youths. The school district in South Burlington, Vermont, introduced a successful mindfulness course as part of a health and wellness program, and now administrators there have advocated mindfulness into K-12 curriculums.

Two years ago, Caverly Morgan developed the after-school mindfulness program teamed up with Allyson Copacino£¬who teaches yoga. After hundreds of students signed up£¬Principal Brian Chatard took note. The school was dealing with a student£¬s suicide (×Ôɱ£©£¬and few resources were available to address students¡¯ emotional and mental health.

¡°High school is the hardest period of time for kids,¡± Mr. Chatard said. ¡°You¡¯ve got emotional changes, physical changes, and all the social pressures. It¡¯s also the onset of mental illness for some kids, depression hits, and there£¬s the pressure of college and sports. All these things kids do is overwhelming without having a strategy (²ßÂÔ£©to deal with it. ¡± And now schools all over the country are introducing the practices.

Parents feel that it is difficult to live with teenagers. Then again, teenagers have similar feelings about their parents, saying that it is not easy living with them. According to a recent research,_ 36 . On the one hand, parents go mad over messy rooms, clothes thrown on the floor and their children¡¯s refusal to help with the housework. On the other hand, teenagers lose their

patience continually when parents blame them for dropping the towel in the bathroom, not cleaning up their room or refusing to do the shopping at the supermarket.

37 .However, some approaches are more successful than others. For example, those parents who yell at their children for their untidiness, but later clean the room for them, have fewer chances of changing their children¡¯s behavior . On the contrary, 38 . For example, when teenagers who don¡¯t help their parents with the shopping don¡¯t find their favorite drink in the refrigerator, they are forced to reconsider their actions.

39 . Parents should talk to their children but at the same time they should lend an ear to what they have to say. Parents may scold their children when they are untidy but they should also understand that their room is their own private space. 40 __It is only by listening to and understanding each other that problems between parents and children can be settled. A. Communication is the most important thing in parent-child relationships

B. the most common argument between parents and teenagers is that regarding untidiness and daily routine tasks.C. Parents and teenagers have different attitudes towards life. D. Communication is a two-way process.

E. those who let teenagers experience the consequences of their actions can do better F. Attitudes determines the parent-child relationships

G. Different parents have different approaches to these problems. µÚÈý²¿·Ö Ó¢Óï֪ʶÔËÓÃ(¹²Á½½Ú,Âú·Ö45·Ö)

All my friends were so excited to start their own lives, and I just wasn¡¯t sure whether I was ready for that yet. I hid my fears and when the time finally come, I hugged my mother goodbye and made the two-hour one-way drive from Coppel to Waco.

For the first few weeks, I didn¡¯t miss home or really feel any kind of emotion at all except tired. There was so much for me to learn I hadn¡¯t had time to think about anything. I explored every corner, looked for the perfect place to study. I learned to set myself a schedule of getting groceries, cleaning my room and doing my laundry Sundays.

Nowadays, in my second semester, I feel like I have almost adapted the university life. The transition from high school to college wasn¡¯t difficult as my mind made me think it would be. One of the best thing college has taught me is how to be independence. µÚ¶þ½ÚÊéÃæ±í´ï(Âú·Ö25·Ö£©
