One possible version: Dear Judy, Im glad to receive your e-mail last week. You said you were interested in traditional Chinese festivals. Now let me tell you something about the Spring Festival in China.
The Spring Festival is Chinas most important traditional holiday. It usually comes in January or February. Families get together to have a big dinner and watch the Spring Festival Gala on Lunar New Years Eve. The next morning, people get up early and say Happy Lunar New Year! to each other. Children can get lucky money from their parents or other relatives. Everyone feels happy. Can you tell me something about your holidays? Yours, Zhang Ying

Mrs. Jackson was a rich woman, she had lots of friends. She liked cooking very much. She often invited her friends to her big house.
One day, she invited some of her friends to lunch. She wanted very much to try a new way of cooking a fish dish, and she was very pleased with herself when the dish was ready. The dish was very hot, so she put it near the open window to cool it. But five minutes later, when she came back for it. She was surprised to see her neighbours cat, Mike, at the dish. She was in time to stop the cat before it was too late. That afternoon everything was good and all her friends liked the fish very much. They talked and laughed until four oclock. The doctor told her to telephone each of her friends to see him at the hospital. At last, the danger was over.
