9. settle vi/vt 解决(问题); 定居;(飞鸟) 落在…上;停息;

The question will be settled tonight.

She settled in London after her father’s death. The butterfly settled on the flower.

I settled my daughter on the sofa and put a blanket over her.

11. abuse vt./n. 虐待,滥用,辱骂 ▲ shout abuse at sb 大骂??

It’s strange that the mother should abused her own child. 真奇怪这位母亲竟然虐待自己的孩子
